An ID and a selfie, once, before your first withdrawal.
Why
Money moving to a bank account has to be traceable to a person. That's the law, not our preference. It's also what stops someone opening a space in your name and taking payments as you.
What happens to your documents
They're deleted the moment a decision is made. Approved or rejected, the files are removed from our storage — we keep the decision and the date, not the ID.
They're never public, never shown on your profile, and never visible to
anyone but the person reviewing them. Uploads go to private storage, not the
public one your covers use.
What you need
- NIN, passport, driver's licence or voter's card
- A selfie, taken now — not a saved photo
- Your name as it appears on the ID
It also gets you the tick
Verified creators get a mark on their name and appear in the Verified tab in Explore. When someone is deciding whether to send you ₦5,000, that matters.
Only if you're earning
If you're just joining spaces and buying things, you never need this. Verification is for people taking money out.
