The short version: we collect what we need to run the platform and pay you. We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and you can take your information with you or ask us to delete it.
When you sign up: your name, email, and a password we only ever store hashed.
When you become a creator: your space details, photos, bank account details for payouts, and identity documents if you're verifying.
When money moves: transaction records, amounts, currencies and payment references. We never see or store your full card number — that stays with our payment processor.
As you use Chumo: what you post, who you follow, messages you send, and basic technical information like your IP address and browser, which we use for security and to work out what's broken.
Only where we have to:
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't run advertising on Chumo. Our income is the fee on what you earn. That's deliberate — it means our interests and yours point the same way.
If you join a space, the creator can see your name, your handle, your membership tier, what you've spent supporting them, and anything you post or send in their space. They cannot see your email address, your payment details, or anything about other spaces you belong to.
Account information stays while your account is open. Transaction and payout records are kept for seven years, because tax and anti-money-laundering rules require it — that applies even after you close your account. Everything else is deleted or anonymised when you close it.
Email info@getchumo.com and we'll sort it within 30 days.
Everything runs over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, never stored in a form we could read. Payment keys and other secrets are encrypted at rest. Uploaded files people have paid for are served only after we've checked they own them — never from a public folder.
No system is perfectly secure. If something happens that affects you, we'll tell you.
We use cookies to keep you logged in and to remember small preferences. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Chumo is for people 18 and over. If we find an account belonging to someone younger, we'll close it and delete the data.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before it takes effect.
