The short version: you own what you make, we take a cut when you earn, we pay you on time, and either of us can walk away. Everything below is the same thing said carefully.
Chumo is operated by Chumstar Technology Limited, registered in Nigeria (RC 8006146). Where these terms say "we" or "Chumo", that's who they mean. "You" means whoever is using the platform — as a creator, as a member, or both.
You need to be 18 or over to open an account. You're responsible for keeping your login details to yourself and for anything done through your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.
One person, one account. Don't impersonate anyone, and don't set up a space pretending to be a creator you aren't.
You keep full ownership of everything you post, sell or upload. You give us permission to host it, show it to the people you've chosen, and display it in places like Discover so people can find you. That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.
You must have the right to everything you upload. Don't post work that isn't yours to post.
Chumo is not an adult platform. No sexually explicit material, no nudity intended to arouse. Also not allowed: content that harasses or threatens, promotes violence or hatred, sells illegal goods, involves minors inappropriately in any way, or breaks Nigerian law or the law where you are.
We can remove content or suspend a space that breaks these rules. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why and give you a way to reply.
Fans pay in their own currency; creators are paid in theirs. We convert between the two and apply an exchange spread, shown on your payout records.
There is no subscription. We never charge you a monthly fee. We keep 10% of what you earn — space memberships, unlocked drops, items, gifts and paid messages alike. That is the entire pricing model.
Money you earn clears 48 hours after a fan pays, then you can withdraw it to your own bank or mobile money account. Minimum withdrawal and transfer fee are shown in your wallet.
You must complete identity verification before your first withdrawal. Your documents are stored privately and deleted once we have made a decision.
We may hold or delay a payout where we reasonably suspect fraud, a chargeback, or a breach of these terms. If we do, we will tell you and explain what we need.
Gifts are final. Digital products and memberships are refundable at the creator's discretion, and we may issue a refund ourselves where something clearly went wrong — a product that was never delivered, a duplicate charge, obvious fraud.
If a fan raises a chargeback with their bank, the disputed amount plus any fee may be taken back from the creator's balance.
What you promise your members is between you and them. Deliver what you said you'd deliver. If you sell physical merch, you're responsible for shipping it. If you stop posting, expect members to leave — that's the deal, and we won't stop them.
You're responsible for your own tax. We don't withhold anything, and we don't file anything on your behalf.
You can close your account whenever you like. Your members should be given reasonable notice — cancelling on people who've paid for the month is not on.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close yours, any money you've properly earned still belongs to you and we'll pay it out, minus anything owed for chargebacks or fraud.
You can export your member list at any time. If you leave, you leave with your people.
We work hard to keep Chumo running, but we can't promise it will never go down or never lose data. We're not responsible for what creators post or for disputes between creators and their members, though we'll help where we reasonably can.
Nothing here limits liability in a way the law doesn't allow.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you — fees, payouts, what you're allowed to post — we'll tell you by email before it takes effect.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
